Alexandra Scannell was born in Moscow and studied photography in both London and the DC area. She now lives and works in Old Town Alexandria.
Her work is an exploration of familiar things. She is fascinated with life that goes unnoticed around us. Her camera takes her down the path to another dimension that allows her to uncover beauty and harmony in both nature and man-made objects. This process also engages her in discovering light, reflections, angles and space. She wants to draw the viewers into the photograph and let them explore.
